Ireland’s second National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) was launched in February 2013, which reaffirms Ireland’s commitment to a 20% energy savings target in 2020. Recognising that Government must lead by example, Ireland has committed to achieving a 33% reduction in public sector energy use.
In addition to this and following the Programme for Government 2011-2016, the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources (DCENR) together with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) developed the National Energy Services Framework to help develop the energy efficiency market in the non-domestic sector throughout Ireland.
22 public and private exemplar projects were selected and committed to delivering an Energy Performance Contract in the 2013/2014 period. Codema is therefore using the knowledge from the EESI2020 project in order to facilitate the development of EPC for4 Dublin City Council leisure centres in the city.
